ABOUT ME
In 2022, I found myself at a crossroads as I awaited the start of film school. It was during this hiatus that I decided to take matters into my own hands and create a short film. Armed with nothing but my iPhone, a script I had penned, and a friend, I launched a crowdfunding campaign, rallying support from friends and strangers alike, ultimately raising over £500.
The process of bringing my vision to life was nothing short of exhilarating. From drafting the script to capturing each frame, I discovered an unwavering passion for filmmaking that permeated every aspect of my being.
In a bold move, I opted to forego the traditional path of film school, persuading my family to redirect the funds earmarked for tuition towards supporting my living expenses instead—I knew I wanted to move to London. This arrangement granted me the freedom to make the move in April 2023 and work part-time from Monday to Thursday, affording me precious time to dedicate to honing my craft every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Over the past eight months, I've come to understand that true growth and learning stem not from the confines of a classroom, but from seizing opportunities and venturing beyond one's comfort zone. As a self-taught filmmaker, I've embraced every challenge as an opportunity for growth, every setback as a stepping stone towards realizing my dreams. I've endeavored to learn every aspect of my craft, from treatment writing and design to location scouting, videography, direction, and editing. I realized early on that an understanding of all these different roles and levels of production is essential for mastering my craft.
With each project undertaken, I am reminded of the boundless potential of creativity—to transcend barriers and connect with audiences on a profound level. As I continue along this exhilarating journey, I am grateful for the opportunity to share my vision with the world, one frame at a time.
